Just because you believe something, it does not make it true.

"Nobody knows the truth, meaning nobody knows if there is a God or if there isn't one. No Athiest knows, no believer knows. They go by faith, which Athiests don't have and don't understand and people are always questions things they don't understand."
"Either way, your "truth" is not better then mine and the concept has different meanings for everyone"
Well put, I don't claim to be a scientist...never have.
I also don't claim to know "the truth" either.

“If faith is a valid tool of knowledge, then anything can be true 'by faith,' and therefore nothing is true. If the only reason you can accept a claim is by faith, then you are admitting that the claim does not stand on its own merits.” ( Dan Barker)
Faith is the antithesis of rational thought. This is why so many religious leaders actively preach against rational thought and even advanced education. They realize that rational thought and education can destroy religious faith and result in fewer followers for them.

Why do Athiests claim that just because they don't believe in God, that automatically makes them logical, rational, scientists? Yeah...it doesn't work that way, no matter how many quotes hush throws at you.
Nobody knows the truth, meaning nobody knows if there is a God or if there isn't one. No Athiest knows, no believer knows. They go by faith, which Athiests don't have and don't understand and people are always questions things they don't understand.
Either way, your "truth" is not better then mine and the concept has different meanings for everyone.

There are many things I don't know. I BELIEVE what will happens to me when I die and the subtle workings of the world, through teachings, but I don't hold it as THE TRUTH nor was it ever taught to me as THE TRUTH.
I do think my self as a religious person, I honor the Kamis, Fortunes and my Ancestors. I will listen to all beliefs, I find that all beliefs have merits and all beliefs have faults. I don't think that any one religion has THE TRUTH.
I have Faith in the Kami, Fortunes and Ancestors, I believe that they have taught me what's nessesarry to fufill a soul's purpose. I guess the only thing I hold on to as THE TRUTH is Every Soul has a Purpose. Even that is somewhat fallible

I don't know that the truth is unknowable. After all, The Truth is Out There. (Sorry, X-Files moment there.)
I believe that the entire Truth is incomprehensible for the human mind, but we certainly can know a portion of the truth. It is a truth that I believe in God. It is a truth that others throughout the Earth's history have also believed in a power greater than themselves, whether they called it God or something else. It is a truth that mankind is comprised of what we refer to as sentient beings with the ability to wonder, learn and grow. I know that in many things I don't know, but believe and wish to know.
Besides, it isn't just religious people who "know the truth". Many who are atheistic or agnostic claim to "know" things as well.

If your faith is only a "maybe," a "possibly," or a "could be" then obviously you're not even sure, so why should I believe you?
Religion is meant to be accepted wholeheartedly. If I said unto you, "I think I know what God might be like," then I'm not claiming to have any answers. I'm only guessing, and when it comes down to the fate of your eternal soul, are you going to leave it up to a GUESS?

My Dear Grandfather who lived a most wonderfull Christian life told me when he was dieing, I sure hope I was right.Noone can know, they may have faith, trust, love, people can think they know,But when we die. and go on, then after that we will really know the truth, not till then. we should not judge others. in the way they beleive, it is Gods will that we have free will. if we judge , then we are going against Gods will.if we do judge then we are setting ourselfs up as God, we are not Gods.We must each do the best we can to do Gods will in our lifes.and leave others to there own ways. and live our lifes as an example to others.if we have a desire to change the world.

Faith certainly is believing without proof. But truth is knowable. It's knowing the truth of all things that is unobtainable in this life.

It is simply because: if you believe in something, you naturally think your belief is true, otherwise you won`t be a believer. I believe education make us a better person means I think it is true that education is good. Go to the definition of the word believe, smart boy!
BELIEVE: to accept as true or conveying the truth

It's a belief that the Bible, Koran, or whatever holy book, contains the "absolute truth" and if a person knows that book they know the truth. --- It's silly, I know.
