I mean I hear atheists say that atheism isn't a religion so why do they still post in the RELIGION AND SPRITUALITY section?

Should they be allowed to? What they mostly do is attack other beliefs.

This country supports democracy. Part of democracy is saying what you feel in any form as long as it doesn't defame someone's character or break a law. Freedom of speech is everyone's right in this country---you don't have to agree with it.

Some are aggressive, yes (of course so are some of the theists). But I believe many people who have no religion come here to try to understand why we do have religions. I see nothing wrong with that. They are simply trying to understand from our points of view why we belong to certain religions or whatnot. So they have to ask questions like, "How is creationism more plausible than evolution" and "Who made god" etc... because these questions are the reasons they don't believe. They're simply looking for answers. We have to give them credit for at least trying to understand why theists believe how they do. Besides - religion and spirituality are two seperate things. There are some spiritual atheists out there. They have every right to be here IMO.

i think no religion can still be a religion, just like 0 is still a number.or rather, atheism takes the place of religion, so naturally, a system of beliefs can only be replaced by another system of beliefs. Atheism would not fit in any other category here on yahoo answers

Religion A N D S P I R I T U A L I T Y!!!!! Get it?
If you still feel like fascism is a great idea, then I will move to a segregated section due to my lack of beliefs, if theists move to the mythology section........oh, and did I mention freedom.

You don't need a religion to ask questions about religion. I don't believe in the tooth fairy, but I still ask little kids if she gave them any money.

Atheism reflects a religious opinion. It's not a religion but it's an opinion and as this is the 'Religion and Spirituality' section, we get to post religious opinion here.

I know that if you can't convert us, you would like to gag us but gagging us still won't make God real.

i think of all human beings has the main appropriate to submit in spite of they like, in spite of the undeniable fact that, the lack of admire and the consistent insults are what's slightly stressful. maximum many times while human beings don't have valid solutions to questions they effect to insults and profanity. i think that the time-honored public of "so-called" atheists on R&S are actually not atheists in any respect yet extremely agnostics. each and every now and then they're only disillusioned theists because of the fact God has no longer replied a prayer or request. in spite of the undeniable fact that, I do locate it slightly confusing on how "maximum" atheists would come and torture themselves with what they dislike (faith). Does this someway teach that whomever is an atheist only only needs to ridicule persons that are theists? if so,how some distance would they pass in the event that they don't seem to be stopped. Does this teach us the actual time table of atheist? That they won't stop till faith (generally the Judeo-Christian God) is eradicated? "we will unharness the Nihilists and the atheists, and we will galvanize a stable social cataclysm which in all its horror will teach needless to say to the countries the consequence of absolute atheism, commencing place of savagery and of the main bloody turmoil. Then everywhere, the voters, obliged to shelter themselves against the international minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will from that 2d be without compass or path, aggravating for an suited, yet without understanding the place to render its adoration, will get carry of the actual mild in direction of the standard manifestation of the organic doctrine of Lucifer, introduced finally out in the time-honored public view" Albert Pike

Well isn't this the pot calling the kettle black. Because it's a public forum. And since this site is American, it would violate your Constitution.

Why are religious folks allowed to post in the science question?

Honestly...what kinda question is this? Christians mostly attack others too and thrust their beliefs on others.

Because it is about spirituality also! Just because you don't believe in a religion does not mean you do not have a faith in something else. Maybe we are also hoping to wake up some of you religious folks. Peace and love be with you.

Why should anyone be allowed to post anything? Your question is invalid.

They aren't necessarily "attacking" so much as they are trying to persuade others to see the errors of their ways. Isn't that what most "Christians" do? Why should atheists be excluded?

Puzzling, isn't it? One would think that if a non-religious or non-spiritual person needed a question answered here, they'd have to go to the - what? Science section? - to have their question answered. Theoretically.
