If you don't feel guilty about it, then why do you call it a sin? Probably, it is a sin to you, but not a sin to others, or it is a sin to others, but not a sin to you. This world is aggresive. Lions eat other small animals for suvival, but you can not say they committ a sin and force them to eat grass because by doing so, lions will starve to death, and then you committ a sin. should we show mercy on lions or other small animals? What is a sin? Everything is limited in a relative and absolute universe. Just try your best not to hurt other people and yourself, but don't be consumed by misery.

If you accept the Bible as the word of 'God' then it defines sin for you.
If you don't accept it as such then why do you care what it says about sin.
The Judeo-Christian view is not the only one, there are many other religions and of course if you are an atheist then there is the humanist moral code to consider.
In the Western world the cultural assumption is that the Christian view is correct but why should anyone accept that at face value?

Nothing is wrong in and of itself, but to him who thinks it is sin, to him it is sin !! From the New King James Version of the Bible.
This can only be interpreted one way, right ?
Right.
If your conscience has condemned you after you have done something, then it was sin.
If your conscience, which is the voice of your spirit, the real you, does not condemn you, then it is not sin.
People in very remote places on this planet, that have never heard of jesus, or religion, nor ever heard anything from the bible, or the Quran, or the Tanak, how will they be judged ?
Answer: according to their conscience, the voice of their spirit, the real self.
And you and i also will be judged in the same way.
God has put within every human, how to know the difference between right and wrong, sin and evil, this knowledge is built within our conscience.
so Let your conscience be your guide, has alot more truth to it, than we ever thought it did before.
Hope this sheds a little light on things.
Excellent Question. THANK YOU !!!

Yes! sin is doing what is wrong or not doing what is right according to God's rules (1 John 3:4). If God says "Do not lie" and you lie, then you have sinned. If God says "Do not steal" and you steal, then you have sinned. According to God, sin separates you from Him (Isaiah 59:2).
God did not say it's a sin only if you feel guilt or remorse. God has a moral law and has given every man a conscience. The conscience acts to accuse or excuse us, compelling us to remain within the bounds of God's moral standards of conduct. Nevertheless, the conscience, much like a human muscle, though it remains strong if exercised, it atrophies with disuse. At one point, while morality still exists, one no longer feels constrained by it. After continually ignoring the urging of the conscience for a period of time, the conscience no longer functions as it should.

Yes.
Sin is not about what you the person committing it, feels(guilt). It is about the act itself that is sin and how God is disheartened by it.
My Pastor always says that sin would not be sin, if it didn't feel good and if it wasn't titillating your fleshly senses. However, sinful temptations always last for a moment, but the results or ramifications of your sins can last a lifetime.
Bottom line; guilt is not the measuring stick of what makes a sin, a sin.

Sin God determines what is a sin it doesn't matter if you don't feel guilty. If you do feel guilty and do something that's a sin even if God doesn't call it a sin because you're doing something that you don't think is right.
Romans 14:23 But whoever has doubts is condemned if he eats, because the eating is not from faith. For whatever does not proceed from faith is sin.

Sin is sin if you do not feel guilty, then there is a problem your heart may be harden, or to cold to feel what is right being without a conscience wicked people sin everyday and do not feel guilty about it they take joy in this Satan does not feel guilty about his sinful pride which caused is fall from grace he does not feel guilty when he lead man or woman in to sin or tempt them with it sin is sin but what some may say is sin would not make it so God tells us what is sin it is anything that rebels against him

Christ says there are two laws which matter: to love God and to love your neighbour as yourself.
So, you should aim to be loving and respectful to God, to other people and to your own dignity/body.
If what you are doing breaks those rules, is selfish or hurtful or damaging in some way, then it is probably a sin.
But if it is simply out of line with tradition then it is not necessarily a sin.
I hope this helps.

God's law can be summed up as "love other people as much as you love yourself." Any breach of this is sin. If you genuinely aim to live a life in obedience to God, then, if you believe that something pleases God, for you it does (for instance, vegetarianism. Some people honour God by not eating meat. Others honour God by eating any food as it is all from Him. Both are right for those people, what is wrong is if they try to impose their views on other people).

Sin is missing God's standards. So, if it isn't perfection, it is sin. If you don't feel guilty about it, it simply means that you have a seared conscience.
