Would you feel more/less comfortable with a physician if you were diagnosed and being treated for an illness..

...like breast cancer or Rheumatoid arthritis if they themself or someone else in their immediate family was suffering from the same thing?

I didnt think I would have to add this but, assuming the doctor is qualified licensed and knowledgeable

There is good and bad. I would probably prefer it as long as diagnosis was definite. It is pretty impossible to understand what it is like to have a condition ...it is individual even if you have it. I believe that a doctor would put a lot more of him or herself into knowing everything possible on the illness in the circumstance you described....but I think they must also have other patients with the illness so they understand that it can be different for everyone. The hard part of this is that although the empathy may grow they may have a lot of their own beliefs on the illness and treatments and may be more prone to suspect things in relationship to that.

Sometimes doctors or even a friend offering advice, can be more empathetic if they have been through (or someone close to them) in the same situation. I am not sure I would feel more comfortable with the physician because they probably have been through it whether with someone close or another patient.

particular, I even have an ailment and that i hate whilst human beings try this. Like working example at school I went to my practise counselor to alter a classification and my practise couselor wasn't in so I had to make certain a various lady. nicely i asked to alter the classification and he or she become so rude, she stated no, too undesirable, you ought to have concept approximately that earlier you signed up for it bye! nicely i become then out for a week as a results of fact i become so ill and once I have been given back I went to the comparable workplace to grant my absent word in. Did you ultimately finally end up getting your classification replaced. i become pissed. i did no longer opt for nor did i want her sympathy. i could have rathered her be a jerk like she consistently is.

I think knowlege OF the disease is more important than them having gone threw it.
