This is what they ACTUALLY believe:

Xenu was an alien ruler of the "Galactic Confederacy" who, 75 million years ago, brought billions of people to Earth in spacecrafts resembling Douglas DC-8 airliners, stacked them around volcanoes and blew them up with hydrogen bombs. Their souls then clustered together and stuck to the bodies of the living. The alien souls continue to do this today, causing a variety of physical ill-effects in modern-day humans. L. Ron Hubbard (a science-fiction writer and the creator of Scientology) called these clustered spirits "Body Thetans," and the advanced levels in Scientology place considerable emphasis on isolating them and neutralizing their ill effects.

To rid ourselves of "Body Thetans" and also “engrams” (past negative experiences stored in our unconscious mind) so that we can become “clear”, we have to go through "auditing" with a member of the “church” who uses an "e-meter" to measure our “reactive mind”...... and we have to pay lots and lots and lots of money for “auditing” (purchased in 12.5-hour blocks, costing anywhere from $750 for introductory sessions to between $8,000 and $9,000 for advanced sessions) and to take courses on Scientology to advance to higher “levels” in the “church”. The “church” has also taken a very hostile stance towards psychiatry and psychiatric drugs irrespective of the fact that some people require medication to remain adequately functional in everyday life. They deny the reality of chemical imbalances. The "church" has been known to withhold prescription pharmaceuticals from member (with deadly results).

Scientologists believe that we live many lives. "The thetan [soul] has lived through many past lives and will continue to live beyond the death of the body.

According to the Scientology official website, this is what Hubbard has to say about morality and "evil" (i.e. "sin"): "L. Ron Hubbard has defined ethics as “reason and the contemplation of optimum survival.” He has also pointed out: “Dishonest conduct is nonsurvival. Anything is unreasonable or evil which brings about the destruction of individuals, groups, or inhibits the future of the race.” " http://www.scientology.org/html/opencms/cos/scientology/en_US/religion/catechism/pg017.html

Scientology is undeniably a cult. Every cult can be defined as a group having five specific characteristics, and Scientology meets all five. For more information, visit the "Cult information" link.

There are basic principles in Scientology which do cover similar concepts . But we have very specific terms and do not use the same words as there are differences.
I will give you a brief outline here but recommend you actually read the book that these references come from for
complete info. and examples. " Fundementals of Thought" by L.Ron Hubbard Chapters 2, 4 and 7.

Sin .
In Scientology we have the 8 Dynamics or 8 parts of life thro' which each individual is striving to survive. These are urges towards existence in 8 different spheres:
Dynamic 1 Self
Dynamic 2 creativity, sex, family unit, rearing of children
Dynamic 3 Groups or as a group, race, etc
Dynamic 4 Mankind
Dynamic 5 All Life forms, including plants, animals, birds etc
Dynamic 6 Physical or Material Universe(Matter Energy Space & Time)
Dynamic 7 Spiritual Universe, spiritual beings, life source.
Dynamic 8 God, Supreme Being, the infinite,or as infinity.

A bad action (or sin) would be one that harms the greater number of an individual's 8 Dynamics and helps the least number. A positive or pro survival action would be one that harms the least number and helps the greater number.

Origin.
This is covered in the principle called The Cycle of Action.
In life the apparent cycle is Create, Survive,Destroy. But the actual cycle is
Create, Continuous create, Create -Counter -Create, No - Creation .

Afterlife. We do not really have anything similar to the Christian concept of this in Scientology.
The most basic principle in Scientology is that you are your own immortal soul. That it is not something you "have" like your mind or your body. Therefore we do not infact "die".
There are definitely "past lives" and "future lives" however.

Hope this helps. Actually the best reference that will answer all questions and religious comparisons is "What is Scientology".
This book is available in libraries or just contact your local Scientology Church or Mission and they will give you access to a copy.

scientology is a cult, cult of personality catered for rich and famous ppl who pay money to join and is the only "so called religion" that has a closed doctrine, in other words you have to pay money, join then find out the philosophy and belief system.

Christianity, like almost every other religion in the world is free and open with its doctrine

side note:

L.Ron Hubbert, was a Navy intelligence officer who was assigned the task of studying and surveillance of an Occult Sex Cult that was lead by Alhester Crowley i think in the late 30's to 40's i think,...it's been a while since i did the research. Anyway, that's how L.Ron learned how to create and manage a cult of his own.

Scientology teaches that all are Gods, including Jesus.
Christianity teaches God in Three Persons. (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit). Sorry, I can't help you with the rest of your question. But if you go to MacGregor Ministries on the Web, you can learn about all of the cults (counterfiet Christianity). Scientology is one of many of them out there.

Theta always was right on the Scientology concept of right or wrong but she is wrong about the Scientology concept of origin. The Scientology concept of origin is explained in the factors.
http://www.bonafidescientology.org/Append/01/page03.htm
The factors:
1 Before the beginning was a Cause and the entire purpose of the Cause was the creation of effect.
2 In the beginning and forever is the decision and the decision is TO BE.
The factors 24 and 25 explain death.
24 And the viewpoints are never seen. And the viewpoints consider more and more that the dimension points are valuable. And the viewpoints try to become the anchor points and forget that they can create more points and space and forms. Thus comes about scarcity. And the dimension points can perish and so the viewpoints assume that they, too, can perish.
25 Thus comes about death.
People say that Scientologist belief in past lives, this is a misunderstanding because there is only one life. Man is his spirit not his body. The Spirit never dies. Just because a form or body he is currently using has ceased to exist it doesn't mean that he ceases to exist. What does he do when the body perishes? He may choose to pick another one or may choose to engage a different activity.
In my own words this is Scientology:
1. What is true for you is what you your self observe to be true.

2. Man is his spirit not his mind or his body.

3. The spirit creates his own mind. Please do not confuse the mind with the brain that is a physical thing. The mind is composed of mental image pictures as explained in Dianetics. These pictures serve the spirit to give him knowledge and experience. These pictures are composed of energy. The energy in the picture can affect the spirit. You can feel better by remembering something that you like or angry by remembering something else. These emotions are actually energy waves emanated by the picture. You can actually feel pain by remembering a pain memory. Sometimes this pictures are accompanied by ideas or considerations. Lets supposed that you father beat you mom up in front of you. Your father was the dominating figure so you might conclude that you have to act like your father in some situations. This is what we call in Scientology an aberration (a conclusion that is impose to you by a mental picture). This picture is what we call a engram; A pain memory that affects your judgment and free will.

4. A spirit is capable of considerations and ideas and this ideas are solely based on ugliness and beauty-fullness. The spirit reject ugly things and intends on making everything beauty full. Do you like your car, you house, your job, your friends? Are you friends nice with you? Can you improve things in your life? All these are ideas based on ugliness and beauty fullness. This is why the spirits rejects the ugly memories and by rejecting the ugly memories (not confronting them) he is unknowingly affected by them.

5. You can discharge the energy in this pictures true communication. This is Auditing, the Auditor directs your attention to this pictures regardless of how ugly they are and you confront the picture and discharge the energy of the picture true the communication line. Is like if you have battery, in order to discharge the battery you need to discharged against something. If you try to discharge it against your self is just going to chock you.

6. Un ethical behavior and wrong doings are the #1 reason a spirit diminishes it power. In order to stop your self from hurting others, you hinder your own abilities and force. The rehabilitation of your own abilities and force is dependent on you taking full responsibility for your actions.

7. You are fully responsible for your condition. Blaming others for your condition will never solve that condition. It doesn't matter what that condition is, blaming other will never help. Only by fully taking ownership of you condition can you solve that condition.

Scientology is a very interesting religion that takes years of study to master. I just mentioned a few fundamentals. Scientology is so advance and so different that people can't understand it. People think that they know everything there is to know about life. And when they see Scientology they jump to conclusions when in reality they don't have a clue what are they talking about. The reality is that man attacks what he can't understand. That's why Scientology gets so much bad press.

Is Scientology a cult? Yes, the sole difference between a cult and a religion is that one is main stream and the other one isn't. When Jesus Christ started Christianity he was considered a cult leader and he was arrested and found guilty of heresy and killed in the cross. Christianity was persecuted for many centuries as cult until it became main stream. And still in this day Christians are still being persecuted in China. In accordance with dictionary.com a cult is:
1.a particular system of religious worship, esp. with reference to its rites and ceremonies.
2.an instance of great veneration of a person, ideal, or thing, esp. as manifested by a body of admirers: the physical fitness cult.
3.the object of such devotion.
4.a group or sect bound together by veneration of the same thing, person, ideal, etc.
5.Sociology. a group having a sacred ideology and a set of rites centering around their sacred symbols.
6.a religion or sect considered to be false, unorthodox, or extremist, with members often living outside of conventional society under the direction of a charismatic leader.
7.the members of such a religion or sect.
8.any system for treating human sickness that originated by a person usually claiming to have sole insight into the nature of disease, and that employs methods regarded as unorthodox or unscientific.

They're both illogical ideas based on myths and legends that have no basis in reality. One is based on the ridiculous notion of a guy that lived 2000 years ago coming back from the dead, the other is based on the wacky ideas of a mediocre science-fiction writer from the 60's and 70's. Equally invalid and unrealistic.

Even so, I put a link below that should help you learn the differences. Peace.
