The file is i beleave for movies and also its not playing in Window Media and Asampoo media player. i tried to play it on the VLC player but im not sure if its me doing it wrong or its not suppose to play.

That's just some generic icon. What is the file type? For instance, if a file is named movie.mpg, the file type is the .mpg.

go to the file and find out what format it's in
to do this - point your mouse arrow over the icon - a small window should appear with the info on that file
another way is to click on the file - once - and check the info (which should appear along the left pane of the window)
(some music file formats are - .mp3 - .wma - .ra - .rm - .mp4)
(some move file formats are - .mpg - .mpeg - .avi - .mov - .DivX)
if it's an avi format that requires RealPlayer to view
.divX requires a DivX player to view
.mpg requires a windows media player to view

That's a pic of a type of file Windows can't identify. A lot of movies are divx now. You can get the free player at divx.com. It's worth having in any case.

look on the file and it should say like mov or something like that certain files take diff players or they wont work at all
