I don't know but keep in mind - because they are smoked (I think) and not cooked - they can contain samonella bacteria. You and everyone else needs to be careful when handling these pig ears.
My dogs eat a raw diet with never a problem. The only time one has been sick - PIG EAR. Samonella poisoning.

The cooked ones that you find at the store are loaded with chemicals and preservatives. They arent the best things to give if you are looking for healthy things. Raw pig ears are excellent, though.

You could boil them, but you can also just give them raw.
Doing them yourself is definitely safer than buying the pre-made ones in the stores. Even if you serve it up raw, the ones in the stores are, surprisingly, MORE likely to carry salmonella, though in either case, I'd worry more about your health than your dog's, since most people that buy the pre-dried pig ears at the store don't realize that they need to wash their hands carefully after handling.

First of all they are so cheap - why not just buy them?
And the real question is where are you going to get a bunch of pig ears???
They smoke them - like when you make beef jerkey
