Have you tried to mix a little bit of nonfat plain unflavored yogurt in with her food? Canned food can sometimes be the culprit also. Hope this helps.

From years of experience with cats and dogs both, you can't change their foods on them like that or you will have poop problems! You need to ease them into it...the new food....start out with a tablespoon in the old food (or less if they're a teeny dog) do that a few days then add a few Tbsps and the old food, a few days. As long as no diarrhea, then keep doing that til you end up with the new food. If you have diarrhea, then you're adding the new food too much too fast. cats are even more fun! I been there and done that from allergy cats....it's a trip! Good luck. IF your dog was on an antibiotc, it may have been that too! but since I don't know what you were given for the "cough" I can't begin to guess. Best of luck to you!

If your pet isn't up to date on worming this could be the problem.Would try taking all food and water away and give her the baby non-flavored pediolyte for 24 hours,by forcing down her if you have to.Then try feeding her some boiled chicken cut into small pieces, put in blender and puree it.If your pet hasn't been checked for coci ,or given the meds ALBON,would suggest you call vet and ask for such,as sounds like it may have the coci bug. After all this try putting your pet on a dry dog food such as IAMS and just mix a small amount of a good quality canned dog food in it ,and keep her on the same food,as when you keep changing this tends to upset her digestive tract and will cause diarrhea.

I have a 3 year old jack rusell/shitzu cross we adopted in August. He too had runny bowel movements, and sometimes lost control in the house.
We ended up doing a colonoscopy, which turned of lymphotic irritable bowel disease (inflammation of the intestine).
We put him on a vegetarian dry dog food which has treated his stomach kindly, and we'll probably have to feed him the same food for the rest of his life.
DO NOT give your dog any people food, as dogs who have sensitive stomachs can't have table scraps.
Food such as onions, apples, grapes can make your dog very sick to their stomach, or even kill them (along with chocolate).
Make sure your dog isn't licking puddles outside (could have car chemicals in it).
My dog is allergic to chicken and fish (he gets the runs right after), so we keep him away from that (yes, dogs do get allergies). Cornmeal and other foods can agrevate your dogs stomach.
If you have pet insurance I'd do a scope, many dogs suffer from conditions such as chron's and colitis just like humans. Make sure she is well hydrated, and always has fresh water available.
Good luck and be patient with her. She'll get past it!

were the pills from the vet for worms? was a fecal exam done to check for worms or coccidiosis? wormers are usually given at least twice at different stages of the worms life cycle to get rid of the entire problem. stop changing food so much you may be upsetting her stomach. she is stressed and getting used to a new situation...if she's not showing stress so that you can see it...consider that her stress is internal. don't try to put weight on her...it will happen as she ages and/or gets used to the new life etc. Choose a high quality food and keep food in her bowl always unless she's a gulper or you are trying to regulate BM's to your schedule.

Dogs, like people, tend to have diareah after their diet has changed. Stay consistant and it'll change. I'd make the transition to dry food. Keep in mind the more things you try the more the diet gets changed. My advice is simple, stop changing her diet. Put her on dry food and keep her there. It may take a week or so but It'll work. Give her some heartguard in case she got worms from the beef.

POOR LITTLE BABY!!!!! She may have worms. Have you had he dewormed? Do you have any background info on her? Maybe the place where you adopted her can help. I hope everything gets better for your little one and you. Please be sure to give her plenty of water. She can become very easily dehydrated. You may want to stop the canned food. that will sometimes give runny poop. Also, a change in food? That could be it. Nerves? She is in a new environment. GOOD LUCK.

If I feed my dog anything with a gravy in it she has the same thing. I feed her the same food every day and if I have to change, I slowly introduce the new diet (switching cold turky can cause stress on the digestive system). Have you had her checked for any types of deseases? Try adding some supliments to the food to help her get nutrients (check a feed store or pet shop).

Take the dog back to vets.
You can try fasting your dog for two meals then feed a light meal of steamed rice and a tablespoon or two of canned pumpkin(not the pie mix).
Has she taken any anti-biotics? If so, maybe she needs some plain yogart to re colognize the bacteria in her stomach.

have she been tested for parvo or intestinal parasites? That is where I would first start. then I would try a different dog food, it could have some allergies to some ingredients in food. I would not give up so quickly on the puppy!!!!!!!!!!
