I found out something shocking about my wife sisters boyfriend.......What should I do?

Earlier today I saw a post on here where a woman was talking about hiring a private eye to investigate her daughters boyfriend. Somebody mentioned the link http://background-records.net/ as a good place to find info online. Well I checked out the site and entered my sisters in law's boyfriends name and found out that he was convicted of armed robbery in 1999. I know this is him because the name, date of birth, and address are all the same. I am sure my sister in law doesn't know (and I am damn sure her dad doesn't know).......should I tell my sister in law or her dad? I don't know how to handle this situation

THIS IS SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM --- this idiot keeps posting the same lame story under different names. Stop wasting your time trying to help her, folks, she needs to get a fiction award for her writing. Report her as SPAM or abuse instead.

Wow... I'm amazed that you were willing to pay $40 to find out something about that guy. Did you suspect he was not what he appeared to be? Why would you think to enter his name?

I may sound kind of nosy, but if you were suspicious of him... enough to pay money to find out for sure about him... then it's quite likely you aren't the only one in the family who feels that way.

This is just too important to keep a secret. If you have the courage to confront him, with your wife and her sister and their parents all in attendance, that would be the best way.

Going around in secret, murmuring to this person and that person... is only going to get you more involved and make things more complicated.

Bring it out in the open, and ask him to explain what you have seen about him. Maybe it was a case of false arrest.... or maybe he went to jail for somebody else, as often happens in gangs.

He deserves the right to defend himself, and he should be put on the spot about it.

SHE should be told. But don't go to her dad - that's just asking for a mess!

She needs to know. If she already knows, she may have an understanding. If she DOESN'T - she might not want to marry him!

Tell her what you told us - you heard about this website and went and checked it out. You didn't expect anything, and then show her.

(But be mentally prepared - she may freak out.)

OH - You might tell your wife. That's her sister, right? She should be able to bring this up better ...

Best of luck!

Show the info to your wife and let her make the call. Personally, I would like to know.

Consider this, she may already know, but doesn't want the family to know. I would recommend you tell her - before you go to any other family members.

Yes. This should have been talked about a long time before they considered getting married. Do the right thing.

Yes, she has a right to know. Talk to your wife about it. I'm sure she will tell their father, or go ahead and talk to her sister. But, be prepared for resistance, anger and denial. I hope this works out for all of you.

I would not recommed that site at all

While I have not used it myself, I have read alot of complaints about them.

I would suggest that people who really need to know use offical police channels.

didn't you ask this before?

and you were told that yes she needs to know...maybe go to the website with her there and play around with it - she will probably come up with looking him up for fun if you look up your girlfriend.
