My oldest child has sickle cell anemia and has to be transfused every two weeks. We have to travel two and a half hours away from home for these appointments. My other children are ages:11,4,2,and 1.My oldest is 16 years old.She had a stroke at the age of six and since then she has had to undergo transfusions bi-weekly because of iron overloads and sickle cell crisis! We live in a very small rural area and they don't offer much assistance for poor families as myself.Every Christmas for the past few years they only give her a board game and a boy's remote car. It's so hard to provide for them but I'm doing the best I can because God gave them to me and I will never turn my back on them but I must be honest it gets very hard at times because I can't do things as I would like or should. So I ask if anyone knows of any programs or sponsors please share so my childrn can have a joyous Christmas! Thank You All

Sweetheart, let us help. Please call your local Shriners. The life of the child is our first and foremost thought, and we will ask nothing of you, except to continue loving your children.

Call every church in your area and ask for specific help. Find out what your kids want and ask if they could donate a gift your child wants. Tell them your situation I know they will help. Childrens aid society may be helpful too. Talk to the churches and see what they suggest too.

No matter where you live there are churches. This time of year churches are collecting money, toys, food and clothes to give to the needy.

Go now to put your families name on the list.

I hope you are taking some form of birth control. When you have that many children, I guess it's up to you to explain to them WHY they don't get much for Christmas instead of looking to someone to provide free stuff for you. You knew the oldest will ill, yet you had four more!
