I mean in most cases, it's get married first, then have children. They are instead, needing babysitting for their family at their own wedding. It just seems so wrong to me. What's everyone elses clean opinion?

I agree. You should have kids AFTER you're married.

Look, it's a well known fact amongst Hollywood circles, that Tom Cruise is gay. He has a pretty skilled publicity team (except when they allowed him to behave pretty bizarrely on Oprah, etc this year....). But his career is close to tatters and this attempt at a 'wedding' extravaganza is evidence of a man desperate to regain his former level of stardom. The problem is, that the internet is such a subversive vehicle - his publicists can't control the spreading of information via it - unlike the print and television media.

I think the reason that Tom Cruise is becoming so unpopular, is the fact that he is going to such lengths to prove that he is straight....which he is not. People are sick of actors acting in their lives away from the screen. Why not just come out and stop all the charades? Other actors are openly gay and still very successful.

Here is my opinion: whether you are married or not, if you have a child and both parents are in that child's life and they love that child no matter what, really, why do you care if they are married or not? What is it to you? No need to come down hard on you, but, as long as this kid is love and have a positive female and male role model in their life, what should it matter? There are people killing each other out there. Hell, there are mothers out there who are married to their baby's father or vice versa and it is a real mess! (By the way, if you think, for some reason, that Hell is a curse word, technically, there are many worse words that could be used.) I wonder if you are the type that would stay married to someone who beats them up? Or, if you get a divorce and do not believe in getting remarried again?
With so many things out there to worry about, it is nice that there is a kid who at least have two parents. And if anything-God forbid- happened to one of them, then at least that kid would know that they were loved by both.
If you think this seems so wrong to you, I wonder what you think of mothers-or fathers-who are single parents? Do you judge them, too?
Just wondering. That's all.

And that's the only part of the situation that you find strange? And no mention of the 'Scientology' crap?

I think the whole thing is stupid and I'm tired of hearing about it. Can't read a magazine or watch tv without hearing about it, and now I have to look at it in Yahoo! Answers too.

And by the way, I have a son and I'm not married to his father yet. We are just now planning out wedding for next September, and my son just turned 9 months old. I know lots of people who do things that way, and more than a few couples who never get married at all. Look around you, we're not in the 1950's anymore.

Having a baby is not a reason to get married. Just because the baby is on the way, it doesn't mean that the parents should be in rush to make everything legal. Although, it would be nice!

It's more important to work out some matters, and only get married when they're sure that it would be the best for all of them.

To get married because of a baby, and then get divorced? Horrible.

Umm...that's the only thing you can find wrong with the whole scenario? That's minor...kids before marriage is very much common place this day and age. However, I have a hard time believing the 'whole world is watching Italy' (according to today's headlines) in anticipation of their weddings...the majority of Katie's hometown has something much BIGGER and more important to watch this weekend rather than their sham of a wedding (like a huge football game going on).

They're a Hollywood couple therfore they're expected to be nothing close to oridnary. Also, it's not unusual for people to marry after having children, it's actually quite common these days (especially with all the teen pregnancy). And so, I don't really worry about much of any celebrities. They do whatever they want for attention and most of them don't last long!

Ours is not a spiritual world. Everyone is happy basically doing whatever they want to do. I for one would be on a spiritual basis with my life. There is such a short human span here in our lives of perhaps 80 to 100 years. Therefore, many odd things are developing even while we are corresponding with each other. If a thing is not Godly, I shy away from it. Many of the celebrities that we see presently are living the same type of lives that you describe with Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes. I will continue to pray for them and the other individuals on this earth who disregard God's Holy Will. I will include myself in those prayers as I am not perfect. I think on this daily. "If God be for us, who can be against us?" - Romans 8:31. Know that "The Lord daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation." - Psalm 68:19. Peace and God Bless.

I was raised in a traditional family where marriage came forst and then the kids...but it is 2006, so anything can happen. I don't necessarily agree with it, and it would never work for me...but if it works for them, then I'm happy!!

They are very strange period. If Tom Cruise was just a regular working man, he probably would be locked up for observation somewhere.
