Flamin Hot Cheetos Recipes

Okay I just bought a bag of Cheddar Jalapeño Cheetos , and I noticed a flavor difference. I think that they did change the recipe. I believe that the original jalapeno cheetos was actually in the liquid mixture before baking and now its a regular cheetos that is now powder dusted excessively. Where as the original was baked into the chip with jalapeno flavoring and not as much powder on the exterior. I am noticing a significant difference and I am even choking more on the recently changed powder coated content of my Cheddar Jalapeño Cheetos bag of chips. They DID make a change , and they don t neccessarily have to tell us, Look at what Kraft Mac A Roni and cheese did it, without telling us. They even advertise they did after the fact.

Here is what I found on wikipedia. They never mentioned a change in ingredients. I would imagine like new coke it would make a big stink if they did.

Also they were released originally in 1995

below is copied from www.wikipedia.com

One of the more popular varieties of Cheetos are "Flamin' Hot Cheetos", which are covered in a spicy powder. They also come in "Flamin' Hot Cheetos con Limon", which are also flavored with lime.

A distinguishing feature of snacks in this genre is their tendency to turn the eater's fingers orange or red. This is due to the powdered dyes used to color the corn tubes. In 2005, Holiday Cheetos Twists were introduced, which were made to turn the eater's tongue green. Natural Cheetos contain no dye or food coloring and do not contain artificial flavors or preservatives. Nutrionally, they are similar to other Cheetos snacks though.

I know this is an old question but I couldn't help but to answer. Yes I do think the recipe has changed. I know exactly what you are talking about. They were so addictive. By the way, I wonder what ever happened to all of the powder that use to be at the end of the bag? That was the best part
