It's a Gateway 42" and I've had it about 5 years. Just this past weekend the bottom half of the screen went out. It's a perfectly straight line and literally cuts through half the TV. The top half is fine and it's not like the viewing image was shrunk to fit in the top half. The sound is fine. I'm curious to know what exactly is wrong and if it's repairable. Thanks in advance.

nothing can't be repaired but ussualy this kind of defect comes from the panel, which is very expensive.
