How do i use the VLC media player? word by word please!?

I want to run this player for watching movie annd also i have a game prgram that i think i can play on this. am i right? Please tell me how i can use VLC media player.

VLC aka VideoLAN is simply a video player. To my knowledge, it has no capabilities beyond those of a normal DVD player apart from the fact that it will recognize and play virtually every audio and video format in existence without perpetually nagging at you for contributions.

Once VLC is installed, all you need to do is double-click on the media file in order to play it; VLC loads automatically.
