Kevin Harvick. He's swept Phoenix this year, won also at Watkin's Glen, Richmond, and New Hampshire. He had 3 races that should have been total losses in the Chase and made something of them, including a 6th at Talladega when he was caught in the Big One. Him and his team took a 30th place car at Kansas and took 15th with it. He took a top-5 in Texas twice this season, and we haven't seen everything yet from him. Harvick is a rare breed. He has the potential to win about 10 per year, but hasn't had the equipment to do it yet. Anyone can say what they want, but if he had a Hendrick car, there wouldn't be 5 drivers still mathematically alive to win it.

I'd have to go with Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, or even Tony Stewart. Jeff Gordon 4 championships 75 wins, one more ties Earnhardt, I mean you dont have a better driver right now although there are some up and coming like.... Jimmie Johnson, he's proven himself able, and if he can keep it up he will (and currently this year is) be one of the best. And Tony Stewart, although Im not a fan, I cannot down play his driving ability. The mans got talent and he's shown it.

Welp...I am a diehard Dale Jr fan so you know where my loyalty lies. But I will admit that Tony Stewart is by far the most talented, you could put him in a grocery cart and he'd still beat the drivers on the track. Tony can drive any type of auto racing car and still win!

Jeff Gordon used to be the best driver in the late 90s, but several young drivers have come into the lime light. I would say Matt Kenseth, Tony Stewart, or Jimmy Johnson. Gordon is not as aggressive as he used to be.

Lately the best has been Tony Stewart. Jimmie Johnson and Matt Kenseth are also right up there. It pains me to say all that because of those 3, Kenseth is the only one that I like.
