I'm interested in in a safe edible product that could be painted such as with a paint brush to paint cookies and such. White paint at least, would be good, then it could be tinted with food coloring.

Chocolate body paint!!!

You could use white icing sugar, made int o the required consistency with water. Whatever colour you like can be added to that then. You can buy packs of coloured icing in tubes too that can be squeezed on directly.

Go to a place like JoAnn Fabrics, MJ designs, Hobby Lobby, I even think Wal Mart has Wilton Baking products. Oftentimes you will find it over by the crafts area in Wal Mart. Wilton is the company that makes all the fancy cake baking pans.

They have colored pastes that you can use to tint stiff frosting. The stuff is very thick so when added to frosting it won't become runny like liquid food colors tend to do. Also, Wilton makes a line of ready to use tinted frostings.

Body paint is edible. Michael's might have edible paint; however, as suggested, you might want to try an adult store for edible body paint.

There is frosting that can be "painted" on. Go to a bakery or arts and crafts store.
