was just wondering before I purchased one. I have found a few that I like but it seem that they only come about ten high and I would like my bed higher than that.

not necessarily. depending on the bed frame (waterbed, sleigh bed, etc.) it might be too slide-y...i made the mistake of buying both...and fell off the bed. you can buy a mattress/box spring (it's a mattress with the box spring in it) for pretty cheap.

Absolutely. I think they are much too short without a box spring. It's difficult enough to get out of bed in the morning without that struggle.:-)

If you want it extra high, it is totally up to the individual with the platform. The box is only necessary with frames that only have slats for support.

No reason why not ,esp if you want the extra height.
I used a waterbed frame ( higher than normal) w/ box spring to
gain height.
