Pain medication can cause constipation. Stool softeners would be better than laxatives. If you still don't have a bowel movement, you should call your doctor and ask them what to do. If you start vomiting, call your doctor right away. If you do have a bowel obstruction, it's not a good thing.
The strange feeling in the rectum could also be a hemorrhoid. Which is another good reason to use a stool softener.

Make sure your family doctor is aware of the condition.
You may have something that is evacuating from your body.
At least 20 percent of the medicines for bad intestinal shape
show that the patient does not have good bowel moves. The
personal care doctor you have should let you know if there is
something in the hospital report . Don't take laxatives until
you find out what toxins levels are, you might need a
specific vitamin or medicine.

Hemorrhoids are associated with constipation and straining at bowel movements. How to get rid of hemorrhoids https://tr.im/rWMNO
Pregnancy is also associated with hemorrhoids. These conditions lead to increased pressure within the hemorrhoidal veins that causes them to swell. Other conditions, for example chronic liver disease, may also cause increased venous pressure and may be associated with hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are very common and are estimated to occur in up to one-half of the population by age 50.
