James touches on it briefly. Throughout the rest of the Bible, Christians are urged just to keep their language "clean."
Why, are you wondering if it's a sin or not? Technically, it's really not. The problem with profanity is that it's worldly, and Christians are urged to not be "of" the world.
I used to swear like a sailor, literally. I stopped because of what a friend of my husband's said about me: "I had no idea your wife was religious."
That just about killed me. I haven't sworn more than once or twice since.

Those born of God are to put away profanity, instead to speak things that edify or build up others (Ephes. 4:29).

Bless those who curse you.

We will be judged by what we say.

The clear sin is using the name of the LORD thy God in vain. As far as other words. It depends on if it used as profanity or not. Or if it is used to curse (cut down) someone.

Only if you interpret them that way. Rather like Yahoo Answers does with posts.

You can't post "f*ck" or "sh*t", but "*****" passes right through their filter as A-OK.

8But now you must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips.

No. Other than don't speak bad about god.

Some dumb fuck will come up with "no swearing" but it will be talking about taking oaths.
