I think as you get older and have children, you'll realize the necessity of breastfeeding in public. I'm with Glo on this one. I was always discreet about it, and sometimes even went into a restroom, but public places (malls, restaurants, etc.) should provide a comfy chair in the restroom or other private area for mothers to access. Feeding your baby is the point of nursing, not showing off your body!

yes its natural but beautiful no!! If you are going to be in public be prepared, as someone mentioned pump and serve. or carry a blanket. I have seen it many times and it can be uncomfortable. I remember 2 years ago I was at a local department store and this woman was sitting on a bench letting it all hang out feeding her kid and trying to get a sales person to help her. come on. I felt bad for the woman but prioritize. to answer your question though it is natural but I think you should have consideration for yourself and others.

I personally nursed all of my children, in public, it did not matter where I was, it they were hungry they were fed. However, I must add, I always covered myself. Breastfeeding is a wonderful thing, very healthy and a great bonding experience for mother and child. However, people (nursing moms) need to be covered, this is not a moment for exhibition. That is just rude, I personally don't feel the need to see the baby nursing or the mothers breasts. Common sense and decency. God bless*

Being a mother of a 20 year old daughter, during the time of her infancy I had breast fed her for six months. If there is no place for privacy then the mother should wear a blouse or sweater that would cover her breasts as I did. A receiving blanket is also convenient as you had suggested.

It may be beautiful to some people But its also considered nudity to kids and anybody under 21 and younger. That is why a lot of us don't like it when mother's breastfeed. Cause its also considered Showing nudity of those parts. Wether the mother's realize it or not. I mean what's the differents between that and going to a stripper bar. That is why I don't like it. I don't think they should allow it at all. Cause I consider it along the same lines as in the stripper bar. Wether they are breast feeding or not. They should be covered.

Yes breastfeeding is natural. And yes, the breast is beautiful. But I still don't want to see it. But then, I don't want to see mommy forcing strained peas on some kid and ending up getting more of it all over the kid's face. That's disgusting too. So I don't know.

Most that I have noticed breastfeeding their children do not expose their breasts. Though I must say, in many countries, an exposed pair of breasts is not considered sexual. It is only in this country where we never see breasts as nurturing do we overly sexualize them and cause them to be looked upon as something filthy. They are mammary glands to feed human babies.
Would you rather hear the baby scream out of hunger?
Just be mature and look away when you notice someone feeding a child.

Call me conservative, but I don't desire to see someones breasts in public. It's very natural and beautiful to breastfeed I understand. However, out of consideration of children, adults, and just families whom desire to utilize the great outdoors, it should be banned. If a women desires to breastfeed use a bathroom or just do it at home. I've heard of some legal issues of women desiring and feeling it's a right to breastfeed. Should a young untrained child urinate in public?

Most of them do cover up. And yes, I think a baby receiving nourishment is one of the most beautiful things in the world.
