I think the only one you have to answer to is yourself for this one. Do a lot of research and then "weigh" where you are getting the information from, everyone is going to "only" want to give you their side and make it all shiny and pretty KWIM?
Some logic for you, If immunizations are so "great" then the people that are immunized don't have to worry about getting the disease. Likewise, if your kids aren't immunized and everyone else is protected then you will never be in the middle of an epidemic where they would get it anyway.
Unless you live in a third world country, or you choose to not use safety methods, there is little chance that you will contract anything anyway. Most of the "epidemics" were back when they were still throwing urine out in the streets and rats were carrying fleas into everyones homes.
Your choice, weigh it, then take it.
Oh yeah, EVERY state has a an exemption law for immunizations, no one HAS to have them for ANY type of public service, schools, welfare, WIC, state funded day care. Know your rights.

I have a son with autism and I also have a father with polio. I recommend immunization. If there was any danger from mercury, it's been corrected, and nobody has the right to put the general population at risk by bringing back an epidemic by not having your child immunized. If your children get one of the dread diseases that were wiped out by immunizations, not only could they die, but the disease is likely to mutate to be able to attack the rest of us who WERE immunized.

People who refuse to immunize.... thinking everything should be "natural" -- really annoy me. The pediatricians all recommend it, but they think they know better. I actually know somebody like that.... and what a mess when she had a house full of kids with whooping cough. Dumbest thing I've ever heard of.

I seriously do not think this is a good idea. immunizations are really something that you should do for your kids. i know that there are some risks but in my opinion they are low compared to how much they can benefit the kids.

Not immunizing your children is something that you definetely should not do. It exposes them to various diseases that need to be avoided. Immunize your children as soon as possible.

Why do you think people live longer now than back in the 1700s?
Its probably because our medical technology has advanced and new medicine/preventions/cures have been developed.
It is only essential to get your children the proper immunizations.
Besides, schools require it.

well, I made the mistake of not doing it, and now my son doesn't have colds as much as he used to and doesn't have a hackingly cold also. I didn't want to do it because I did it when he was a newborn and I passed out on the floor, and the doctors office I was at wouldn't let wait outside, I waited a yr to do it, and I regret it completely.

I think it is completely irresponsible to NOT immunise your child.
Not only do you expose your child to the risk of contracting some horrible ailment but you also put the rest of society at risk.

bad idea, when I was a teen a little girl died from tetnus (sorry if spelling is wrong) at the age of 5. Her mum didn't immunise her and she was their only child. Very sad.
