Have you been diagnosed with acid reflux? I have had that disesase since the age of 12, and I tell you, its nasty. There are meds that can get perscribed to you by your doc, I forget what mine were called, it was a newer kind and i havent taken any for months now because i am 35 wks prego, but meds usually help. If you dont have a prescription try Zantac its pretty good at the beginning, but then your body gets immune to it and it doesnt work anymore. Also eating smaller more frequent meals, along with a low acidic diet helps. Lay off the caffiene it just causes more harm than good. OHHh i remember what that med was called now, it was Losec, worked like a charm.

There are many medications available for Acid Reflux (also called GERD for Gastroesophogeal Reflux Disease. I suggest you see your doctor because he can decide which of the medications that are used for this would be best for you. The medications for Acid Reflux are what you call Antacids. Some of the medications for this are Nexium and Aciphex, to name a few. There are many others that your doctor can decide on. I hope I have helped you by what I said here.

You can use one of the many over the counter medications, such as Tums, Mylanta, Maloxx, Prilosec, Zantac etc. A teaspoon of baking soda in a 1/2 cup of water is also an exellent home remedy, I find that actually works better than anything over the counter.

Also, try to avoid eating foods that you know will make you have relux. For me, its cheese and chocolate. If I eat too much of either of these I will be paying for it later.

Finally, if the condition persists, you should see a doctor. Acid from the stomach is very dangerous in the throat, it can damage the esophagus, and seep into your lungs which could be fatal.

there are many o.t.c. medicines to help. I found the best reacting and quick way to get rid of it is to try the chewable roliads. As you chew it swallow bit by bit, the flavor and the coating ( medicine ) will line your thoart and will help protect it from any harm nor its burning sensation.
