I would like to enroll my daughters in a private christian pre-k and elementary in town. I've read the pamphlets and all the information and it sounds great. The tuition is within my budget and I agree with their teaching standards. My famliy believes in God and we want to set good morals for our children. The only thing making me second-guess this decision is that a very close family friend of ours is homosexual. We support him in his lifestyle and don't want our children to judge him. We're afraid that by going to a Christian school, they will inevitably and falsely led to judge him for what, not who, he is. Any ideas on how to resolve this issue, if it's even possible to do so?

Is it also, then, not hypocritical to judge a man and say you are a Christian?? That's also plainly told to be a sin in the Bible.. The only thing that all Christians can agree on is that the Bible tells us to love thy neighbor.. How is doing that making me a hypocrite?

Don't even worry about it. It won't happen. Christian schools don't teach judgement. In fact, they teach the opposite--understanding. I wish I could properly convey in words. . .just how valuable it is to attend a Christian School. You'll have well-rounded children, who grow up to be well-rounded adults. I've seen and attended both sides of the fence. There is no comparison between Christian and Public Schools. This may sound a little harsh, but you can either 'invest in their future' or 'save for their failure'. I don't know where you live, but where I grew up, that statement would be true more often than not. Feel free to email me if you have any more questions about Christian Schools. Your kids are more important.
Why worry about that? If you are not saying judgmental things to him- then you are not being judgmental.

Christian schools are the BEST. Seriously- If you can afford it- you should send your kids there- I know you love them, and by loving them- I know you would want them to grow up to know the Lord and follow Him- to train them in righteousness. And I think maybe this guy, may just see how God is working in your lives and your kids' lives and maybe he will repent of his sin and come to know the Lord! You can pray for that- But yes I definatley say put your kids in a christian school....You have no idea how bad the public schools have gotten.

I'm a Christian and I don't judge people that choose to sin. No matter the sin. It is between them and Jesus. (I don't condone their lifestyle choices but I have choice, as does everyone.)

I'm not perfect and have no place to judge.

Teaching your children to love is what the Bible teaches us.

The education is what's most important for your children.

How can you say you are a Christian and you support something that is clear in the word of God to be wrong. I am not saying that you can't be friends with a gay person. I have friends that are gay but they know that I believe it is wrong! I think that it's fine to teach your children to love people no matter who they are or how they choose to live but it's bad to teach them that it's okay to be gay and say you are a Christian because that's hypocritical!

Sure - dont indoctrinate your children into a hateful religion, dont send them to a Christian school. You and your family beleive in God. You can teach them morals on your own, or via Bible Studies if you really think they can only receive morals from that source. Leave it at that. Why indoctrinate them into hate?

I'm curious to your allusion to "set good morals." Some of the worlds most heinous crimes have been perpetrated in the name of religion. Remember Hitler was a Christian too. Let your children enjoy a secular education, one which will expand their minds, not expose them to hypocrisy and close minded ideas.

Your kids' attitudes will be shaped more by your own than anything else. The benefits of Christian education far outweigh the drawbacks.

Homosexuality -

To lie with mankind, as with womankind is an abomination (Lev.18:22, Lev.20:13 below). The effeminate and the abusers of themselves with mankind shall not inherit the kingdom of God (1 Cor.6:9-10 below).

As a member of the body of Christ (Col.1:24), such as these are washed, and sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of God (1 Cor.6:11 below).
