Wow. I'm in the same situation.

The only things I suggest are...
-try to be more mature: maybe they'll feel that you're more responsible and let you have a bit more freedom
-Be nice (actually): maybe if you do what they want (ex: good grades, homework done on time, no whining..etc) they would feel proud for you, and give you some kind of reward
-interact with them more often: no matter how relentlessly boring or painful this might be, getting to know your parents is a big thing. After all, they're not going to be with you the rest of your life - they just give you the start. If you learn what they are like, maybe they would learn more about you. Then they might know your need for something and let you do it, for it's very important to you. And anything important to you that is completed, would make you happy. And parents want their kids happy.

It's a whole cycle.
Good luck!

That depends on how old you are I suppose. They do have to set some guidelines for you...most parents have been there and done that so they usually don't want their kids to make the same mistakes they made. On the other hand if you show them that you are responsible and do your homework and help with chores that might help with some priviliges for you....

Your parents are looking out for your best interest and they are not trying to control, but keep you from harm. I used to hate the things my mom would not let me do, but now only five years later, I am thankful that she kept me from doing things I would regret later. Best wishes.

Try these simple steps. Turn 18 y.o. and

1. Finish High School then,
2. Go to college
3. Get a job
4. Move out
This works well!!!

If you are 12 to 17 then they still have power over you but if you want them to get off your back at least a little bit, talk to them. If your 18 and over you are considered an adult so they definitely have to get off your back.

If you are under 18, then yes, they do control you and they have every right!! They are responsible for you. No matter what your age is, they will love you and always be your parents. You should feel blessed to have them.

They apparently DO control you, since you have to ask this question.

The person who answered you by telling you to grow up is right. But, "growing up" takes time. There is no shortcut.

hmm.
do you live in the same house? (most likely.)
do you pay any bills? (probably not.)
.
.
...sorry dear, but considering you are their kid, and assuming the above is true, they do, in fact, have quite a bit of control over you until you become 18 and/or move out.
Maybe an attitude change is in order...
