I would think you can use regular granulated sugar for the cotton candy machine and add some type of flavoring agent (vanilla) or color agent (food color)...

If you have a party/equipment rental place near your residence, you can call them to see if the rent cotton candy machines. They usually carry the supplies for the machines too.

Can't you just use any vegetable food colouring you can get at any Sainsbury's or Tesco?
