My dog hates owls! Have you ever heard of this?

Question

Recently, an owl has been spending time hooting at night in our neighborhood. My dog had never heard an owl before, and his hair puffs up and he begins barking and growling. Last night, there was an owl hooting sound on the TV and he began growling again!! Has anyone ever heard of this? What could cause him to hate the sound so much?

I don't think he has ever seen the owl... he just doesn't like the sound of it.

Dakota Jade may be very lovely, i could use that title, despite the fact that I decide upon Dakota for a boy, it nonetheless works for a woman I hate Bentley for a boy, its method too girly sounding. My dog hates rain! We're in a drought and my dog who is nearly a year old had never experienced rain before, and the first time she did started barking and growling at it. Now everytime it rains, or there's a thunderstorm on TV, she gets petrified and growls and barks till it stops.

I think its because as puppies they never experienced it...

My dog hates the mop... she used to hate watching me brush my hair. I guess she is associating the owl noise with something bad, and trying to run it off by growling. See if you can find out what he is associating it with and go from there.
