it's a recipe of certain ingredients that you can keep made up and then just take a little and make cookies, biscuts, pancakes and etc. just by adding liquid ingredients.

Yes, BISQUICK and JIFFY Baking Mix are both master mixes of the variety youre referring to

"MASTER MIX"

4 cups all-purpose flour
4 cups whole wheat flour (or all-purpose flour)
1 1/3 cups nonfat milk
1/4 cup baking powder
1/ tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups vegetable shortening or margarine

Stir dry ingredients together until well mixed.
Cut in shortening or margarine until well mixed.
Store in covered jar or can. Refrigerate if margarine is used.
Use in a month or keep refrigerated.
Stir lightly before using in recipes.

"Pancakes" - 12 medium pancakes

2 cups MASTER MIX
1 cup water
2 eggs; beaten

Put all ingredients into bowl; stir just enough to moisten dry ingredients. Drop by teaspoons onto a hot greased skillet. Cook slowly until surface is covered with bubbles. Turn and cook until second side is well browned.

"Pizza" - 4 to 6 servings, one 12-14" pizza

Crust:
2 cups MASTER MIX
1/2 cup water
Preheat oven to 425*. Stir mix and water together to form soft dough; knead 5-6 times. Spread dough on a baking sheet; turn edges up. Spread topping; bake according to directions.
Taco Topping:
1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 cup water
1 pkg. taco seasoning
1 (16 oz.) can refried beans
1/2 onion; chopped
1/2 cup cheese
2 cups chopped lettuce
1 chopped tomato

Brown beef in skillet. Add water, seasoning and beans; heat through. Spread mixture on dough; add onion and cheese. Bake about 20 minutes until edges are brown. Sprinkle lettuce and tomato on pizza; serve immediately.

Cheese Topping:
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
2-3 tbsp. minced onion
8 oz. mozzarella cheese; shredded

Spread tomato sauce on dough; sprinkle with cheese. Bake 20 minutes until edges are brown.


"Biscuits" - 10 (2") biscuits

2 cups MASTER MIX
1/2 cup water

Preheat oven to 400*. Add water to master mix; stir about 20 times. Turn dough onto lightly floured board or table top; knead 10-15 strokes. Roll or pat to 3/4" thickness. Cut with biscuit cutter or cut into squares with knife. Bake on ungreased pan 12-15 minutes.



"MAGIC MIX" - 6 cups

4 cups nonfat dry milk
1 cup flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) margarine

Combine milk, flour and salt in large bowl. Stir in margarine until mixture looks like cornmeal. Put mix in jar with tight-fitting lid; refrigerate.

"Magic Sauce" - 1 cup

2/3 cup MAGIC MIX
1 cup water

Combine in saucepan; stir over medium heat until mixture is thickened and bubbly.
(NOTE: Use Magic Sauce for all recipes calling for a white or cream sauce.)

For Cheese Sauce: Stir 1/2 cup grated cheese into MAGIC SAUCE. If desired, for extra flavor, add 1/2 to 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce and 1/4 tsp. dry mustard.
For Egg Sauce: Hard cook and chop 2 eggs; add to 1 cup MAGIC SAUCE. If desired, add 1/2 tsp. dry mustard to sauce.
For Creamed Chicken or Tuna: Add 1/2 to 1 cup chopped chicken or 1 can drained tuna to MAGIC SAUCE. For extra flavor, add 2 tbsp. chopped onion and celery or 1 tbsp. chopped parsley; salt and pepper to taste. Serve over toast or hot cooked noodles.
For Nacho Sauce: Stir 1/2 cup grated cheese into 1 cup MAGIC SAUCE; add 1 tsp. chili powder and 1/2 tsp. cumin. If desired, stir in 1 tbsp. chopped chili peppers.
