Where do you check up on food places, buffets, etc for their Health status, or if anyone complained about them, besides the BBB,which offers no information and they are not a reliable source for health matters.

This is a certificate they have to have showing in a place that you can see. You can also go to the health department, the County where they're located and ask.
If it's food poisoning your going to have to be hospitalized and then you'll have a record. Just getting Ill isn't going to do it, you'll have to prove where you got Ill.

As cowboyjack said....Call your local health department, and they will direct you to department that checks on all food places, etc.
They will tell you who has violations.
You are right, better safe than sorry.
Every once in awhile, they place it in the newspaper here.
Believe it or not, I am shocked at some of the places, I truly thought were
outstanding. Perhaps, you could get them to also do this in your home town newspaper.
