Actually, in the past few months, there was a family saved from a fire because the cat kept pesting the owner until they woke up. When faced with a threatening situation, cats tend to find a place to hide. My husband and I were volunteer firepersons when we were younger, and you wouldn't believe the number of cats that remained hidden in the house under a bed or behind a sofa. I was on the interior attack team and pulled one out from behind a sofa once. A little oxygen and she was fine.

I have a dog and two cats. They all hang out with me when I am ill or feeling down. One of my cats woke my mother up (by being a pest) when she was having a heart attack. She decided then and there to go to the hospital. Cats can be just as loyal as dogs.

Here's why cats are better than dogs. They don't bark, they can't be taught to do stupid tricks to boost their sad owners' sad ego, they are sensuous and spontaneous; there's so much you doggist retards could learn from a cat. As far as the fire/rescue thing, it's just doggist propaganda-check the stories. Also cats keep clean and smell sweet, whereas dogs.................

I have a dog and a cat...the dog would probably be the first to alert me to trouble, but I think the cat would make some noise if given the chance - she would want to be saved!!

That's why I much prefer dogs and have one myself, dogs will run to the door to greet you when you've been out, cats turn their backs on you and sulk.

I really hate all these cat haters. You guys are so ignorant. Just because your aunts cat hisses at you when you come in the door, doesn't make all cats bad! My cat is the most friendliest loyal thing you will ever meet! Please, please don't make any more "dogs are better than cats" comments. They are hurtful to cat owners.

Bull. My cat ran up and down the stairs crying when my father left the stove burner on one night. I finally got up just to shut her up and she led me right to it. She was quiet for the rest of the night.
