The fastest way would be to take a long, slow deep breath. Then buy yourself a bottle of Holy Basil (NewChapter brand is best) and take 2 capsules. Completely calms anxiety and literally destroys intrusive thoughts in 20 to 30 minutes and the effect is very long lasting; does not make you high.

Remove yourself as much as possible from the situation that's agitating you. Close your eyes, and begin to slowly count backwards from 100 to 0. Take deep breaths and visualize yourself totally calm by the time you reach 0. Then when you are at 0 take 2 deep breaths and open your eyes.

I've heard that some people will go out and have a smoke break (not recommended). Other people will grab a beer (also not recommended). When I want to calm my nerves, I'll head to the gym.

Smoke some bud ( Just kidding) breathing deep and concentrate on the backs of your eyelids for a minute or two.

take a nice hot bath with tons of bubbles. listen to your favorite music or read your favorite book.

Also, you can take a headache pill and take a nap.

Talk to a psychologist.

clear your mind, take a relaxing shower/bath. And afterwards, if you are a smoker.... smoke a cigg.
