Sorry to hear about your dog (and friend). It's normal to feel terrible right now, but try to take comfort in the fact that you gave her a good life and were there for her when she was not feeling well. She probably had a better life than a lot of dogs do, thanks to you.

It was about 9 years ago, I lost my female Queensland Heel-er. She was 10 years old, and her name was Misty. Misty was in good health. I got her when she was 6 weeks old. She got into the trash one night where I had threw a partly eaten sandwich in a plastic baggie. she suffocated to death after getting her nose into the baggie and I guess could not get it off. I would like you to know that I buried relatives that didn't hurt me as much as having to do that to her. To this day I remember her like it was yesterday. The hurt doesn't go away, time just makes it easier to live with. Just remember the good times that you were allowed to have with her.

cry, don't try to be the manly man things are better when your not hiding your feelings. people do the same as you so just all get together and cry and share good memories about her, and maybe make plans to get anther dog later in the future.

I have had many dogs who lived to be old dogs. Get another dog to replace her. If you are lucky you will outlive many of your dogs, that is life, each time I say I'll never have another dog, but we always do.
