It depends which branch of Judaism you ask. Traditional or Orthodox Judaism forbids women Rabbis. The reason is purely stubborness, in my opinion. The so-called leaders of the Orthodox branch just refuse to accept women as being 'spiritual' enough to have all the responsibilities and duties of a Rabbi. I think this will actually change in the near future, whether they are not actually given the title of Rabbi, but women may have a more prominent role in Orthodox religion.
Conservative Judaism has recently, within the last 20 years or so, accepted women as Rabbis. There are many followers of this branch that still do not agree to women Rabbis, but that is their issue.
Reform and any other 'modern' form of Judaism has allowed women to be Rabbis, since the early 1900's.
An interesting point about Orthodox views on women: the woman, as a wife and mother, have a greater spiritual function in the religion than men, yet are not treated as equals in terms of being a leader of the religion. It is a very prehistoric attitude to enforce as a religion, basically the woman's place is in the home and her main role is to serve her husband and family. The diehard Muslim religion is like this well, to an even greater degree that they are not even allowed to be seen. As we see with modern Judaism (reform, conservative, re-constructionist), women are starting to have a larger, and equal role in the faith. As I said earlier, Orthodox Judaism will have no choice but to follow and allow women a greater role.

Yes, a woman can become a rabbi, just as she can become a priest... but the more orthodox/traditional sects of either religion will not accept her as such.
I know a woman who is a rabbi in Reconstructionist Judaism, but an Orthodox Jew will not recognize her as an official rabbi, since the ordination is granted by a different sect.

Technically... yes. Just like a woman can become president. She can but its very unlikely just due to cultural differences.

1) She shouldn't have a leadership position, it's immodest.
2) If they didn't make it a feminist issue, it would be allowed, but now that they've adopted it, we want to stay away from it.
