I don't understand. why do people ignore the potential of food allergies having to do with a child's behavior when it is prooven to have a HUGE impact on their behavior. my nephew has food allergies and I can see what a difference the treatment of simple drops can make in his life. he goes from a terror to a sweet, loving child.

is there some sort of huge issue of debate surrounding food allergies that i am unaware of? if so, please fill me in.

so, apparently i am not missing any huge debate here, but rather it is all about ignorance on this issue. apparently, those who gave me & the people who responded to my question thumbs down are people who are ignorant because they didn't have anything to say on the subject.... i am assuming...

Unfortunately not all parents are attentive to the needs of their children. Some parents are very lacksidasical in their approach of nurturing their children, and ignoring the adverse effects of a bad diet is outright neglect! There is no other way to put it. It's unfortunate that we live in a country that is raised on McD's and Burger King, and people think that it is ok and healthy. And they wonder why their children are having behavioral problems at school, and then they come Yahoo Answers and cry for help. While meanwhile their children are having cheeseburgers, french fries, and milk shakes for dinner. Notwithstanding that fact their children are allergic to dairy!

i think a lot of people are simply unaware of the impact food has on the behavior children (and adults).

that, and it is A LOT of work to cut certain foods out of a childs diet, especially if its a more complex food allergy like gluten which is a hidden ingredient, not just dairy, etc. often times there are no simple solutions or pills a person can take. or maybe some busy parents just don't have the patience to wait for the results, as it can take up to a month to see them.
and, maybe some people are unaware of the health hazards that can come from eating foods that one is intolerant to. it can actually hurt your child physically later in life you know they have an allergy and you are feeding them the food anyway.
ultimately i really think most people are just unaware.

My 3 year old has food allergies to milk and eggs which was causing her exczema and thrush as a younger toddler, but regular pediatricians will not agknowlege that foof allergies have anything to do with behavior, or even thing like exczema and thrush. When you take them to a allergy specialist you get more answers then with a pediatrician.

I think you mean the "effects" of food allergies, not the "potential".
