It is my 32nd birthday in December. I am looking for a tasteful rnb/ jazzy or soulful bar to invite friends to. I would like a venue where you can have a section to yourself and up to 40 people. Any idease for central london?

Re: the suggestion of Match bar above, It's a nice-ish bar but just as a word of warning, last time I was in the back room, it smelt of damp. It's also quite narrow for people to move about in, especially if you've got 40 people.
Having said that, I can't offer too many suggestions of my own...
Had a nice time in Salvador and Amanda at a birthday.
Jewel Bar?
The Langley?
Perhaps not what you're looking for music-wise.... Good luck anyway.

Match bar (just off Oxford Street) has a nice intimate room at the back for private hire.
