Sometimes I get terrible gas from certain food- I can't seem to pinpoint it; although it seems to be from cabbage... But sometimes I eat cabbage with no gas resulting. When I get it, it feels awful, like something is churning in my intestines, and I feel very full like I want to burp and flatulate for a long time! (sorry if that's gross). Anything I can do to help with this? When it occurs, I can't concentrate on anything else b/c it's so annoying or hurts so much. I hate having gas. What kinds of food help with it? Any medicines that work especially well? Please give your experience on this. Thanks!

Perhaps there is nothing intrincally wrong with you.If you know that certain things give you gases better try to avoid them. That on some occasions they do not do so is not argument to take them. Perhaps at that particular time some other factors may have given you the respite but the fact remains that they eg. cabbage don't agree with you.One of my friends got gases when he drank tea. He found out hat the milk in the tea was the villain of the peace when he had gone into the interior where no milk was available and had to drink black t ea.It is advisable to set with you feet folded beneath you for 10-15 minitues after each meal. The gas will pass out ,sometimes noisely but the stomach would be rid of them. But the main think is look before you eat.

A very cheap over the counter drug called simithicone. Works really well, and fast. I take 2 capsules when I have gas. Go to the pharmasist and ask where it is. They will know exactly what you are talking about.

They have this stuff called Beano that's supposed to help you with gas. A guy I used to work with used to use this prior to eating burritos and he said it worked great. Happy eatin'!
