How can convert a word doc or an excel spreadsheet to either a "GIF" or a "JPG" file

This may not be the best solution, but it's how I do it. Copy the text (or picture, whatever) paste it into a new document using the software called PAINT. Just about every PC comes with it - you can usually find it under START/PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES

(If it asks "would you like the bitmap enlarged" when you try to paste it, say yes)

After you paste it here, you can save it as a .JPG, .GIF, or .BMP file.

Hmmm...you want someone to do your homework or you want the MS note and Excel manuals? All MS products contain help files yet in case you want articles on both products, the perfect way is to take a even as to apply MS note and MS excel. Suffice to assert, Excel is extra for worksheets and mathematical calculations and macro formula.

If you have a scanner, you could always print it, scan, save as a jpg.

print screen and then paste in paint and crop it as you like.
print screen is a key on your keyboard.
