Actually your ideal weight is 140...I don't get why all these people say you could do with losing a few pounds...makes no sense...For every inch above 5 feet you are supposed to gain 5 pounds (starting at 100)...so 5x8=140...you're basically perfect...but if you want to lose a few extra pounds just excercise everytime (walking and running are the best things you can do, and swimming if you have the chance (they really tone your thighs and legs up)). Good luck! :-D

I'm just answering your first question, do you need to loose weight. I've found the best answer to be a calculation of body mass index (BMI). Body mass index is a measure of body fat based on height and weight that applies to both adult men and women. There are several calculators on the internet to help you figure this out.

Your BMI is 21.6 which is right in the middle of what is considered normal weight (18.5-24.9). A weight loss to 135 pounds would equate to a BMI of 20.6 which is still considered normal. Your prior weight of 150 is a BMI of 22.8 and is also considered normal.

A weight loss to 121 pounds or less would be considered underweight. If you're a fashion model in Madrid, Spain, you would have to weigh more than 118 pounds or you would not be allowed on the runway.

It's not all about the numbers. How do you feel at 150, 142 or 135 pounds? Where are you most comfortable, regardless of what the scale says?

I think 5'8" and 142 pounds is about perfect. You said you were 150 pounds and have been working out-just keep working out if you want to loose another 7 pounds for your goal weight.

But most of all watch what you eat. I even do this now and I'm only 14 and I'm almost under weight.

But I watch my weight a lot! I do it where I don't stare myself, but instead watch sugars, calories, and greasy foods. Also don't drink a lot of soda and keep on exercising. Join a fitness program if possible or have you and some other friends go on some jogs every now and then.

So eat healthy and excersise! That's what matters!

Also talk to your doctor and get some helpfull hints.

Keep working out. INcrease the workout, and decrease the calories you take in.
Remember that muscles weigh more than fat, so for a bit you may not see a wt loss but it will come as you keep working out.
For your ht the insurance charts would say you should be about 138lbs. You are less than five pounds overwt. Be happy!

eat better - more fruits and veggies

low cal and fat food- turkey sandwhiches w/out mayo
healthy choice meals
grilled chicken
soup
salad with fat free dressing
fat free cheese slices still make good grilled cheese

do some moderate cardio exercising- take walks, do taebo or aerobics a few times a week- go for a jog, walk on a treadmill or stairmaster or stationary bike

you should lose about a pound a week until you meet your goal

I think that you would be too thin at 135. I bet you look great just as you are now. A gal at you height would look too gaunt that thin.
