Okay... so my boyfriend told me that he has been thinking about proposing to me, but he hasn't found a ring yet and says that he won't until he has one. I told him that the ring is not what makes a proposal special, it's the proposal itself and that he is willing to make that commitment, and the love of course! Anyway, my question is... what is the deal with not having a ring yet (like why would that stop him), and how soon do you think he will actually do it, considering the holidays are coming up and all? Also... since someone commented on it... I never brought up the subject of marriage, it was him. I was more concerned about our own personal dreams (what we want for our own lives) than a dream we could share together. Honestly I didn't think this would happen for another couple of years or so... and I'm not being impatient about it now... I'm just wondering what king of things could be going through his head right now.

I'm sure to alot of guys out there finding that perfect ring for their sweetie would make that proposal more perfect, and if you think about it, if you were to marry this guy this would be the only time he proposed so let him take the time to do it as perfectly as he wants to

Im sorry but your boy friend is not very smart. First off, he should NOT have told you that he was going to propose. Secondly, he should NOT have told you about not finding a right. And lastly, he should NOT have given you these excuses. The biggest part of a proposal is the Suprise Factor. Now he has taken that all away and has left you expecting a propsal. NOT a smart thing to do.

i think that when a guy propasals to you that there supposed to be a special moment. also its usually supposed to be a suprise .a guy is usually supposed to all ready have the ring and not at the last moment.you should confront him about the ring because that tells how your relationship will last and stuff.

you said a mouth full, the holidays are coming up....are you sure you want to talk about all this now....could be a lot of apprehension just because of the holidays..
but if it were me, I would sit down and talk calmly about all ..ALL of what you want and expect in your life, and have him do the same thing, maybe even write it all down on PAPER....and see how close the two of you actually are...
and have him talk nicely and calmly too, and have him give it all up..his wants, his dreams, what he expects from life with the two of you, and also what HE wants in life..sit down this weekend and talk nicely...
good luck

Guys think differently than us. Don't worry about it so much. It will happen when it happens.
