The curtin should be wider than your window.
If you dont have a messuring tape you could use a ruler or something that you know the size of so you can get an idea of size.
Then get your curtin a little longer than that.

All depends. You can have curtains that are inside the window with a spring loaded rod, where the frame of the window shows. You could take the curtain to the ceiling and down to the floor which would give height to the room.
I like no curtains and using large pieces of colored glass in windows. I usually have someone come in and tint windows. It really all depends on the room, what furniture your putting in it. What the room is going to be used for and your own personal taste. No set rules. I prefer plain print normally because curtains will remain in a room as a back drop for other things that can be used to make the room POP. Things you can change out which will change the mood or the season of the room. Just like couches and chairs, always plain. texture is better than print. Also will keep the room looking larger.

It depends on the window and the look you want. Some curtains look fine ending inside the casing, others a few inches below.

Some window treatments look best with the curtains going all the way to the floor.

What kind of windows do you have?

That depends on the window. Personally I think you'd be safe getting 84" long curtains, unless it is an extra tall window or sliding glass door. 84" curtains look classy even on a shorter window, and make any window appear larger.
I should add that in an informal area such as the kitchen, 63" is usually the way to go, unless the window is taller than that, then I'd go with the 84".

depends on what u like and where the curtains r going to b. Generally in a bedroom, they r a few inches lower than the bedroom window. a few inches above the top of the window or to the ceiling is up to u. If it is the living room it can b ceiling to floor or just the size of the windows, again it is ur preference.
good luck

Curtains that just cover the bottom sill give the windows a more polished look. They can go all the way to the floor but if you want to go that long, drapes would be a better choice.

For my taste, either down to the sil or not much beyond it or to the floor or an inch above it. I don't think they look good in between.

They should cover adequately whatever they cover.
