The first time I heard of it was from my hubby who is a southerner (I am a northerner) I now have his family recipe for cornbread stuffing with hard-boiled egg (yuk!!) It is very wet and bland tasting.
It is nothing like the sage and sausage bread stuffing we are fond of here up north.
I think it is a southern thing.

I have always put chopped hard boiled egg in my cornbread pan dressing. I believe my whole family would find it odd for the chopped egg not to be in the cornbread pan dressing. I think it is wonderful. Maybe this is a Southern thing - but it is very right!!!! I can not stand stuffing - I like pan dressing. Stuffing is kind of goopy and sticky. Pan dressing is almost like bread with lots of good stuff added it to it - like sage, onion, celery, bell pepper - and yes chopped hard boiled egg!!!!!

My family has always put boiled eggs in our dressing. I've had it without eggs and believe me the eggs make is so much better.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I always add a few chopped hard boiled eggs to my cornbread dressing. My Mother did it and that's where I learned to do it. I don't think it would be good without them.

Yeah my friends mom made some like that last year. I thought it was pretty good it kept the stuffing moist.

Yes, myfamily makes it that way. Sadly, I'm allergic to eggs, so I have a reaction to this all the time.
