I've learned lots of things from Jim_Darwin, although sometimes he says he's Atheist and sometimes he says he's Agnostic.

I guess it's that Atheists can be spiritual. The concept never occurred to me until someone (not Jim_Darwin) explained an experience he had. I would reference it, but the question was deleted for chatting. Had this person not been adamant that he was Atheist, I would have pegged him as a Pagan because of some Norse mythology he talked about.

I've also learned a lot from the different questions I've answered from Atheists. Not all Atheists are belligerent, and a lot of the questions I've answered have caused me to really think, which has caused me to firm up my beliefs. Prior to coming here, I knew what I believed, but had never really put a lot of it into words. Thanks to a lot of the early questions I answered, who I later found out were Atheist/Agnostic or at least not Christian, I was able to put words to my feelings.

i'm a theist, and characteristic continuously been very curious some huge form of non secular ideals and philosophies. i do no longer think of that interest is constrained totally to believers. it would desire to be that many atheists even have actual questions approximately specific non secular ideals and practices. because of the fact this would be a communicate board on faith and spirituality, this would be a stable place to seek for solutions to such questions, no longer from some chilly encyclopedia, yet from truthfully practitioners of those religions. additionally, many of the atheists i comprehend have frolicked analyzing faith, to the factor that they have got study the Bible, Koran, and a rather good variety of different non secular texts, and would debate them fairly skillfully. yet another subset of atheists would desire to be right here to sell atheism, this is their suitable. i think of there are as many motives for being right here, no rely if one is a theist or atheist, as there are individuals in this communicate board.

I like your hat! :)

I've learned that God isn't as mad at athiests as a lot of people who believe there is a God seem to be. In fact, I've learned that God isn't mad at athiests at all. For the longest time I couldn't understand or relate to someone who even questioned the existence of God, but I realized that this is because of my own personal experiences with God throughout the years. And here on Y!A R&S, many athiests have been gracious to answer a lot of my questions about athiesm, and I've come to understand a little more about something that has always been a bit baffling to me. It was inconceivable to me that someone could actually come to conclude that there is no God. But I've since come to realize that each person's life experience shapes who they are and what they've come to believe about God. My life experiences have shaped my full persuasion that God exists and that He loves us. People who don't believe in the existence of God just haven't had the same experiences I have, and that's all.

Well, to turn it on its head. As an atheist, I've learned that most religious followers are extremely insecure and gullible which is why they need a religion to follow. A shame, because I'm sure they are genuinely nice people.

If a little misguided.

I've learned that Atheists can have morals too. Christianity can not monopolize morality.
