I gave up Jesus for Lent years back and felt so good about my decision that I never took Jesus back.

That's an interesting question. I could say my sins, but I am always a sinner, even when I try not to be. I gave up my life before I was saved when I chose to walk with him. I am a different person, and I gave that old person up when I was born again. It's hardly a sacrifice, though, because I really like the person I am with Jesus a lot better than the person I was without him!

For centuries, Christians, when they've thought about Jesus having sacrificed himself, and they themselves no longer living in a society where it was thought appropriate to sacrifice someone to take the blame for things going wrong, have struggled to justify this claim. I'd say they give up rational thought in exchange for believing these old tales. Jesus lived, Jesus died. Seems straightforward to me.

I am on a daily basis giving myself to Jesus who gave His life for me. Jesus knows im trying and thats all that matters. x

Dear vlad,
i give up the old life in exchange for the new life he has given me in Christ. And one thing i've learned is i can't outgive God. i can never match nor deserve what Jesus has done for me- but i can do my best to love him and follow Him.
