If you let your dobie get pregnant, and still don't have a clue, you shouldn't have bred the dog in the first place.
CALL a VET. You're only going to hammered on this forum by people who think you are a backyard breeder (and probably right). In day 53? Sounds like you thought it was going to be a good money maker?????
Good luck to the dog.

I don't support BYB either, but the dog is already pregnant.
I had to take care of a friends dog while she was pregnant (he waited too long to spay her). I can tell you that she cleared a 4 1/2 foot fence a half hour before giving birth. I was out in the backyard with her because I knew she was close and I ran in to get the phone hoping it would be the vet. I found her in the front yard. Half hour later, we had puppies. Everyone was healthy and happy.
I have no reliable source, just my one personal experience. She has since been spayed as have all my pets and I hope you will do the same for your Dobe after this pregnancy.
Do call your vet.

OMG. Didn't you do any study earlier than letting her breed? How many days has it been considering the fact that breeding? if it is a minimum of 60-sixty three the reply is sure. Not all puppies have a cookie cutter revel in identical to females and exertions. They're all one of a kind most commonly. I recommend you bounce on that laptop due to the fact you with no trouble are not able to get at the solutions factor right here and feature every person stroll you by way of the following nine weeks of work, supply and weaning! Take her to the vet PLEASE! Someone simply requested this query, Why do folks breed their puppies? Maybe you've got an reply for her and he or she for you.

Like we would know. Day 53 is a TAD early. Hope for day 58 or better.
Hope this is her LAST litter. Breeding a large dog at 5 is on the verge of BAD!!! Especially since this MUST be her first litter, judging from you cluelessness.
I do not support BYB either. WAY too many of them out there!!!

She'd be whelping about 10 days early - so not likely. When she is ready to whelp, her temp. will drop, she'll stop eating, act very restless and look for someplace to start nesting. You should introduce her to her whelping box, in a warm and quiet room, so she can get comfy in it, nest if she wants to, and so she'll know where to go. She's not likely to be doing any running when she's really ready, but you should still be keeping an eye on her. Sounds like she's a bit nervous.

Have you taken her temp? A dogs temp is usually around 100-102 degrees. If it's lower then she probably is and if not then she may be getting ready...my vet told me that gestation for a dog is 58-65 days averaging 63 days, give or take 5 days either way. GOOD LUCK!!

She could be, but if it is truly only day 53 she'd be a bit early.
She is too old to be used as an income producing opportunity. Do not breed her anymore.
