Ive had Sooty the black labrador for 14 years, and it hasnt been to well, so i took him to the vets. After 10 minutes the vet said " Im sorry sir but i shall have to put Sooty down" " Why" i asked with a tear in my eye. "Because hes getting bloody heavy" replied the vet.

Did you put him down or did the vet just suggest it? Also, why would a dog be put down because it's heavy...I think a diet is in order...unless heavy stands for something else?
