It hurts so much because you DID lose a good friend. Just because it was a dog, as some people will tell you, doesn't mean you loved her any less.

It's easier to love animals because they don't judge us or criticize like people do. They love us unconditionally, and are there for us when no one else is.

We have a shelter for old animals, and it always hurts when we have to finally make the decision to put one to sleep because they are in pain or in very bad shape. We all have our favorites. I just lost my favorite old girl in September. Even though I still have 16 other old dogs to care for, I miss that one a lot, and still cry over her when I see her old food bowl. She was with me during some really rough times, and I appreciate that kind of loyalty.

So it's okay if you cry and miss her. Don't let anyone tell you to straighten up, or any of that stuff. It's okay to just cry for right now.

I can understand just how upset you are feeling, when you lose a loved pet it is like losing a part of you and the pain is very real. All you can do to help you to accept the loss is remember all the great times you had together and how much you meant to your pet. You will not hurt as much in a few days and as time goes on you will be able to talk about him/her withought crying, but you will never ever forget the love you had for each other. Unfortunately dying is a part of living and we must accept what we can't change.

First, do not give up. Keep watching for him. Let men and women comprehend the last time you saw him and that you still want him again. Any individual will have been driving through the discipline and picked him up. Submit it in the Sunday paper and contact the entire vets for your and surrounding areas as well as shelters. 2nd, I doubt the sensation of loss will ever get higher. Why? Well, unlike the dying of a pet, you quite often suppose guilty about what happened. Responsible feelings not ever ease without strong effort. You have got to recognize that it was now not your fault. Had you now not gotten injured you can have run after and caught him. If that you can discontinue blaming yourself the pain will likely be less. It will not go away, nevertheless it won't hurt as much.

im sorry to hear about the loss your dog. i had to have my cat put down 2 years ago and he was like my baby. I cried for weeks over him then eventually i started crying less and less. Now it is over two years later and although people will say things about him or i'll find something of his and i will still cry, but mostly it helps me to remember the great times i had with him. i look at pictures of him a lot and you could talk to him still if it helps. that is what i do for my cat. you may or may not ever get completely over it, but remembering your dog in a positive way can really help. Hope this helps you.

So sorry for your loss. Unfortunately it is part of life and I know it is painful but as each day passes it will get easier and eventually you will only recall good memories. You might want to get a new puppy because it will help keep you busy and keep your mind off of the loss of your beloved dog, just don't get one and expect for the new puppy to be just like your previous dog. Everyone is different and the time it takes to get over a loss varies. When we had to put one of our dogs to sleep, my kids were very upset so we got another dog and it did help.

Remember that your little dog is in a better place, and maybe he/she is making some other little kid as happy as he made you. Also know that you gave him a wonderful life by loving him and being his friend. Many dogs don't have that chance. Maybe your dad and you can go and adopt a new dog in a couple of days, so that you can give this new dog as much love and friendship as you did your lost pet. I'm sorry for your loss, but remember that it was just your dog's time.

Yeah I understand how it is. I've lost about 4 dogs and it's terrible. Just remember that the dog was taken out of his misery (if he was in pain). It'll be okay and sooner or later it won't hurt so bad. Just think about the good times and don't be afraid to cry. I still cry about dogs that have been gone for nearly 5 years. But just remember that it'll all be fine.

My advice, as an animal lover, is to get a new puppy. Go to the local animal shelter and adopt one. It will not replace your beloved dog, but it will give you a lot of love you will be helping the new puppy. If you want, you can even adopt an unwanted dog. I hope there is a shelter near you.
