Lip balms, you may apply vaseline before you go to bed at night time. Licking your dry lips with your tongue doesn't help.

Put some chap stick on. It's a thin layer of vaseline with other healing things.
I highly recommend the Blistex Herbal Answer, it's what's worked for me tremendously when I've had very chapped lips. You can find them at drug stores or at the health care centers at supercenters and grocery stores.

You can use a mild exfoliant on your lips, they usually come in a little tube and looks kind of like lipstick and has a grainy texture. Apart from that, used chapstick or other lip moisturizer. Refrain from oily glosses (or "Lipsmackers" brand) and don't lick your lips. Wearing too much lipstick can also cause dry lips. One wonder remedy for lips is "Bag Balm", it's an ointment that was originally made to sooth calauses on cow's udders, but is now more commonly used for human's dry lips. It can also be used as moisturizer for any other part of your body, including hair and nails.

First, you need to exfoliate them. Mary kay (no I don't sell it) sells a lip buffer or something, I forget exactly what its called.
Or use the same exfoliator as you use on your face, It'll get rid of the old dead stuff.
Alternatively, use a SOFT bristled toothbrush, thats wet on your wet lips (I do this often just after brushing my teeth) then gently get rid of the old skin.
After that, use a lip protectant, vaseline etc and your lips will be gorgeous!

I have always had great luck with Blistex. Its by the chapstick but comes in a blue little tube. It makes your lips sooooo soft. I use it all the time and it doesnt leave a waxy kinda feel or taste on your lips either! It even comes in Raspberry now!!! Adds a little shine to your lips too

You can try lip balms to smooth out your lips and protect them from the sun. Also, drink lots of water to keep your body in tune.
