Depends on you. The males are usually a bit more enrgetic as puppies then mellow out getting grumpy. Females are generally are better with children (they have a maternal instinct). Males are a little more aggressive and make good watch dogs. I have had plenty of both, so it really doesn't make a lot of difference. Oh, yes, I have found that Females are easier to house train.

I had 2 pound puppies, a male and a female. I had to rehome the male, because he was so destructive and disruptive. He was also much harder to train. The female is only destructive in a puppy way and is learning very quickly. She is quiet and very friendly. I know not every dog is the same, but I would recommend you get a female. From all of the animals I have owned from horses to cows to cats and dogs, the females always seemed to work out best.

I have found females to be cleaner and males seem to be more lovable physically. Females are better with small kids. Males tend to be more protective of property than person. That being said males don't seem to be as independent as females. You can get a thousand different opinions on the matter. I prefer the personality of the males.

in my opinion Female dogs r more calm then male. Usually. But I have a boy and he's great. He loves to lay around the house and play outside. But he can be a pain too. I think the choice is really up to u. I wouldn't make your decision on what other people say. Just go with your gut instinct.

I will always have female dogs. I know it is not the best reason, but I hate that male dogs lift their leg to pee. Also I have 3 sons and a husband, so I have to have at least another female in my house!!!!

I've had both, and honestly as long they are spayed/neutered, they are both great! If they are not altered a female can be a big responsibility when she comes into heat, not to mention messy. The only complaint I had on an unneutered male is "marking" his territory, and that was only on walks around the neighborhood.

It really doesn't matter whether you choose male or female. Just make sure to spay or neuter! Unless you are an established breeder, you have absolutely no reason to not spay or neuter. An altered animal lives a longer, more healthy life.

I dont think it matters as long as you can love the dog as an equal...but If you r thinking about breeding than you should get a female(only if u want more dogs)!!!

It depends what you want? With a female, she is going to get her period and be moody. Best bet is to get the dog spayed (girl) or neutered (male) so they dont get moody or aggressive to other dogs.
