Play a deathmatch on video game Halo 1 and 2. Sounds stupid I know. But learning different map, and where all the pick ups on that map are important. So remembering where the last plasma rifle or grenades are is gonna make a difference. The maps for these games can be complex and need to be navigated through to learn.
Other real-time strategy games such as Age of Empires 3 and Dragonshard help u remember where units and resources are, and work out managing these for beating the enemy.

Depends what you need to remember & when

If you will need to remember something at a specific time or place, visualise what you will see when you get there, then imagine the thing you need to remember in that visualisation. Like for example if when I go to the shops I need to post a letter, I visualise a postman standing by the shops. Then when I get there, I see the shops & that reminds me of the visualisation of the postman & that reminds me to post the letter. Keep the links simple, one or two stages at most & it will be easy.

For longer lists of things, imagine either a favourite journey, or walking round your home. Imagine one of the things you have to remember in each place, so that you link the place with whatever you have to remember. Then when you need to remember the list of things, just imagine you're going on the journey or walking round your home & you will see the things you have to remember in those places.

Both these techniques will take a bit of practice before you can use them, but believe me they will work.

See you on mastermind next year!
