Ideally you will have to be taught Spanish, because it is among the so much typical languages on the earth. The so much typical languages are, indexed so as of so much used ; Mandarin (845 million persons), Spanish (329 million), English (328 million), Hindi-Urdu / Hindustani (240 million), Arabic (232 million), Bengali (181 million), Portuguese (178 million), Russian (a hundred and forty four million), Japanese (122 million) & Punjabi (109 million) Of your record Japanese is the one one in this record, however even idea there are plenty of local Japanese audio system the language is not all that good unfold around the globe. German (ninety million) and French (sixty eight million) are each relatively typical, with French being extra broadly unfold around the globe than German is. So briefly, of the record above, I might pick French. A lot of high-quality literature comes from France and it is with ease now not the identical while you learn translations. It additionally makes it so much less difficult to be taught Spanish, OR, if you understand Spanish already, then you can already be used to among the sounds you can uncover within the French language.

French, bien sur. French is the language of diplomacy and many more people speak French than German. Also, as a romance language, it will be helpful if you ever have to take vocabulary tests or the SATs. You can take French now and German later.

Both! I have learned French already, and now I want to learn more German.
Someone said above that German has hard vowels. French and German have roughly the same vowels. The German ü is the French u, for example.

German, it's much more useful in terms of business, science etc. It also has many more speakers than French (in Europe). Plus, many more people in many more areas understand German, so unless you want to go just to France and a few African countries, I would learn German. Plus German is fun to speak.

French (it's the European language) as English is the (Western Language). It's also sexier.
German is harsh! It's hard to be sexy when speaking German!

French.
The vowels in German are much more difficult to pronounce. The umlaut (the dots over the vowels) are completely different from English vowels.
French is more fluent where German is more guttural. French is more romantic where German is not.
