I think that very much depends on the school and the code of conduct of the school. When I was principal an ISS did not happen very often and an out of school suspension hardly ever.
Are you asking because you want a suspension or because you are comparing the rules of different schools?

I'm an assistant principal, and there are a few things I'll give a kid ISS for doing: swearing at a teacher, but not TOO much, skippping a detention, or ditching a couple of classes. However, don't let this backfire on you.

i dont know y u would want one but if you refuse to sign a detension they can give you iss. smart mouthing to a teacher should work, or cusing them out works 2, walk into class tell the tacher to buzz off and go screw someone then just tell her/him you think they are gay and than skip, that'll get you something!!! ( =
